I just read one website (for people using projectors at a university facility) that warns that if the laptop is set to 32 bit color instead of 16 bit color, it could keep the laptop from mirroring to the projector. The lamp works fine we can't get projector to recognize incoming signal from computer. Problem with DVI-VGA cable? What should we do next? I am using the Function/F8 toggle key to send the image to the projector. The toggle key seems to work (every third toggle the monitor on the laptop goes black, as if it is mirroring the image to the projector, but the projector can't recognize it. I have tried pressing the key with the Windows sign + P and clicking on 'Extend' but nothing happens, and when I go back into that screen it has simply gone back to 'PC screen. I have connected the projector to another laptop so I know it works fine. We've tried turning on the projector and computer in different sequences. Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) I am trying to connect my laptop to a projector.

We're using the DVI-VGA cable provided with the projector. The projector also has a VGA terminal that can be set for computer input, but they didn't provide a VGA-VGA cable. The cable provided with the projector is a DVI-VGA cable the primary computer input terminal on the projector is DVI. I also can't get any technical support either from Sanyo or from the dealer, so I am throwing myself on your mercy. I can't get my brand new Sanyo Multimedia Projector (PLC-XU25A) to recognize the incoming image signal from my Dell Inspiron laptop computer.
